JI029 – Erin’s Tenor Uke with Trem

Erin contacted me in September of 2018 asking if I could build her a custom uke for her live performances and for recording her upcoming third album.  She was looking for a custom uke featuring her logo and a whammy bar.  Erin had seen some of my ukes with whammy bar and wanted something a little more custom, so we ended up designing and manufacturing a custom electric ukulele bridge just for her project. 

For her uke, Erin selected a beautiful koa top, which we inlayed black walnut on the left edge to form an E, just like in her logo (see image in the gallery).  The top was paired with a black walnut back, maple neck, and ebony fretboard.   Mike over at Warp Core pickups wound a custom hot set of “Joyner Soapbar” Ukulele pickups for Erin and we routed those through a 3 way selector switch with volume and tone control.
